Enterprise Legacy Rescue: 3 Months to 20 Days

Secure AWS Modernisation for a National Broadcaster

The Problem: A critical public-facing infrastructure database was trapped on legacy, end-of-life technology (PHP 5.6) running on a highly vulnerable single point of failure (one EC2 instance). The traditional timeline to untangle, refactor, and migrate this system safely was estimated at 3 to 4 months.

The YMA Solution: Using AI-assisted development workflows, we executed a rapid “20-Day Legacy Rescue Sprint.” We took a raw dump of the legacy system and entirely refactored the codebase to meet modern enterprise standards.

The Result: Upgraded the infrastructure to a Highly Available (HA), Multi-AZ AWS architecture with stateless session storage, RDS, and a complete GitLab CI/CD pipeline. Zero compromise on enterprise security, delivered in under a month.
